Empowering Growth and Unity in a Flourishing Texan Town
Jarrell Community Library and Resource Center: A Beacon of Hope in a Growing Community
Jarrell, Texas – The Jarrell Community Library and Resource Center, a beloved nonprofit institution located in the heart of Jarrell, Texas, is proud to be the hub of community services for one of the fastest-growing communities in the state. With its commitment to enhancing the well-being of residents, the library continues to be a vital resource for the community’s mental and social health needs.
Mental Health Support Through the Libraries For Health Initiative
Thanks to the generous support of the St. David’s Foundation’s “Libraries For Health” initiative, the library has been able to employ two dedicated mental health peer support specialists. These specialists are instrumental in providing essential mental health and wellness support to the community, as well as connecting residents with county health organizations for additional social and health services. This initiative has been crucial in fostering a supportive environment for all Jarrell residents.
A Growing Community and the Need for Expansion
The Jarrell Community Library is currently located in the Sonterra MUD building, within the master-planned community of Sonterra. As the community continues to expand, so does the Parks and Recreation Department, which now requires additional space. This growth underscores the urgent need for the library to fi nd a new home to continue its vital services.
Generous Donations and Future Plans
In response to this need, generous donors have come forward with donations of two acres of land, along with site preparation, utilities, permitting and zoning, legal services, architectural design, appraisals, surveys, and engineering. These contributions represent a significant step forward in our efforts to establish a new state-of-the-art library that will serve the future needs of the Jarrell community.
Seeking Support for Interim Solutions
To continue providing uninterrupted services during our capital campaign for the new library, we are seeking additional funding for a portable building, parking lot, and road access. These interim solutions are essential to ensure that the Jarrell Community Library remains a cornerstone of community support and engagement.
