Programs

Storytime

Jarrell Community Library and Resource Center promotes literacy through Storytime lessons and activities. Each week, lessons focus on a theme and include social skills, play, and motor skills. Storytime is provided from September through May.

There are three sessions provided each week:

Pre-School Ages 3-5: Tuesdays 10:30-11:30
Books and Babies Ages 0-3: Thursdays 10:30-11:30
Bilingual: All ages Fridays 10:30-11:30

La biblioteca comunitaria y el centro de recursos de Jarrell promueven la alfabetización temprana a través de lecciones y actividades de cuentos. Cada semana, las lecciones se centran en un tema, que incluye habilidades sociales, juego y habilidades motoras. La hora del cuento se ofrece de septiembre a mayo.

Se ofrecen tres sesiones cada semana:

Martes: 10:30-11:30 Pre-K de 3 a 5 años
Jueves: 10:30-11:30 Libros y Bebés 0-3 años
Viernes: 10:30-11:30 Hora de cuentos bilingües para todas las edades

Summer Reading Program Activities

The Jarrell Community Library and Resource Center Summer Reading Program will resume next Summer.

Stay tuned for more details!

Classes

Crochet

The Crochet group meets each Wednesday from 5:30-6:30.

The group enjoys conversation, lessons, and time to enjoy their craft. The group often takes on projects such as hats to donate to cancer patients.

Sewing

The Sewing For a Cause group meets each Wednesday morning from 10:00-12:00.

The group creates pillows and lap quilts to be donated to St. David’s and Baylor Scott and White hospitals for mastectomy patients and others in need.

ESL Classes

Jarrell Community Library and Resource Center provides English and Spanish Language classes rotating every 8 weeks.

Senior Game Club

The Senior Games Group meets every Tuesday from 1:00-4:00 pm at the Jarrell Library and Resource Center.

The seniors play card games while enjoying socialization and conversation. The group would like to expand their games to Bridge and other card games if there is an interest.

If you are interested in beginning a new card game or dominoes group, please contact the library.
